Kuo Tong-jong 郭東榮

Born in Taiwan, he went to Japan after graduating from Taipei Teacher College.  He received Master degree in Art History and in Oil Painting Materials / Techniques from Tokyo Fine Art School in 1973.  National Museum of History held his solo exhibition in 1983.  Influenced by Vincent van Gogh, Kuo uses colors as a tool to describe subjects and form conception at the same time.  His style in later period of career reminds viewers of European-Impressionist. kingsley auction
